politics

10 September 2008
i don't understand why the entire political race is all about making the other guy (or woman) look bad.  it just doesn't make any sense.  there are serious issues that need to be addressed, but it seems that every four years when the the presidential race comes along, all that is talked about is how this person did that and that person did this... it's so ridiculous.  they sound like my fourth graders trying to get each other in trouble so they can go to lunch first.

i've spent the last hour listening to new reports that talked about obama and mccain.  after an hour i decided it wasn't worth the time i'd spent.  i still have no idea what obama plans to do (besides bring "change") or what mccain is planning.

i don't care how well someone can talk. i don't care how they look, how their wife looks, or how old they are.  i want them to tell me what they are going to do.  they can be as inspirational as billy graham, but if they don't tell me what they plan to do, it's worthless.

I totally agree, Deanna. I wonder if they teach circular answering for those aspiring politicians or if they just naturally acquire it. All of them keep talking about "reasons," "changes that need to be made", & so many generalities it is barely worth watching b/c all they do is bring you back to the same place they started, with questions. I also agree that this is seeming to turn into one of these dramas we might witness around the school "yard" (school tundra... :-p) I feel like Really we can pay attention, but can't buy anything they are saying now b/c it's all for the sale. I want to say that maybe looking at their track record will give us a better idea of what they will really bring to the table in the future.
